The New England Patriots’ 2018 offseason was filled with rumors and speculation. After the team’s defeat in Super Bowl 52 Womens Adrian Clayborn Jersey , there were questions about Tom Brady’s and Bill Belichick’s commitment, Rob Gronkowski’s future with the club, and the virtual benching of Malcolm Butler ahead of the title game. Add some big free agency and coaching losses and you have yourself a tumultuous offseason — at least on the surface.Enter the Pittsburgh Steelers. For most of the past two decades, the team was one of New England’s main rivals for the AFC crown and as well run an organization as any in the NFL. However, things are currently taking a turn for the worse and two of the Steelers’ foundational pillars are involved. It all started last offseason, when Pittsburgh placed the franchise tag on star running back Le’Veon Bell for the second straight year. The team made the decision to tag him after Bell refused to sign a contract offer rumored to be worth around $70 million on a five-year deal, with around $33 million in guarantees. However, the three-time Pro Bowler was not happy about that and as a result refused to sign the tender sheet. Ultimately http://www.patriotslockerroom.com/authentic-james-white-jersey , he preferred sitting out the 2018 season than signing the one-year, $14.5 million contract that the tag represented.Bell will now hit the free agency market next month. And if it goes according to the second of the Steelers’ “Killer Bs” — wide receiver Antonio Brown — he will be joined on the bus out of Pittsburgh soon. Brown, after all, is looking for the team to move on from him via trade. And earlier today, he officially requested a move by posting the following video on his official Twitter account:The message is clear: Brown wants out of Pittsburgh, and he is taking his demands to the public. It remains to be seen whether or not the Steelers will give in and move on from the 30-year old, who played second fiddle to JuJu Smith-Schuster last season, but it cannot be denied that they have a massive problem at their hands — one that is not going to be any easier to solve with Brown’s latest social media post.Ultimately Matthew Slater Jersey , one thing becomes clear by the recent drama coming out of the AFC North: the Patriots’ 2018 offseason was not as wild as a lot of the reports coming out of Foxboro made it seem, especially when compared to what Pittsburgh is currently experiencing. The Antonio Brown saga is no rumor, it is real and it will impact the club one way or the other as a recent tweet by ESPN’s Field Yates reiterates:Safe to say that the situation will be an interesting one to monitor, especially since the Patriots are not involved (and they will not be, it would be a huge surprise if Brown ended up in New England). But now that this has been written, there will probably be some new rumor coming out of Foxboro soon. Tackle was a big need for the Patriots and Cajuste is a good project player for offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia. The Patriots still have seven picks to make on day three of the draft, with three picks in the fourth round and four picks in the seventh round. Cajuste fills a major need and gives the Patriots a lot of freedom to take the best possible players in the final day of the draft. Here’s why the Patriots drafted Yodny Cajuste.Offensive tackle was a major needRight tackle Marcus Cannon turns 31 years old in May. That’s the entire list of Patriots offensive tackles with real NFL experience. Projected starting left tackle Isaiah Wynn tore his Achilles and missed his rookie season. Then there’s Womens Ryan Allen Jersey , uh, Cole Croston and not much else. The 6’4, 312-pound Cajuste is immediately the third-best offensive tackle on the roster with a legitimate chance to start over Wynn due to his size. Regardless of who wins, there is now viable competition at the position and the position should be set for the foreseeable future.Pats Pulpit reacts to the Damien Harris and Yodny Cajuste picksSubscribe to the Pats Pulpit podcast for more draft reactions!Yodny Cajuste has a ton of upsideCajuste allowed a total of 1 sack and 2 quarterback hits over his two seasons as a starting left tackle, per Pro Football Focus. He is agile on his feet and is also able to sit down against power rushers. Some good coaching can really elevate his game to the next level. There are some concerns. He’s not the most flexible player and has suffered from a pair of season-ending knee injuries that ended his freshman and sophomore seasons, and didn’t participate in the combine due to a quad injury that required surgery. But Cajuste was the last quality offensive tackle prospect on the board. He’s a good project pick.None of the tight ends are that good (...?)Some Patriots fans might be upset that the Patriots haven’t added a tight end. A reasonable thought: none of the prospects are good enough to beat out Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Jacob Hollister, Ryan Izzo http://www.patriotslockerroom.com/authentic-jason-mccourty-jersey , or Matt LaCosse, so why not wait for another draft class or free agency class that is better than this year’s. Or, who knows. Maybe the Patriots have some other trick up their sleeves where the tight end position is less-emphasized in exchange for two running back sets. Maybe Rob Gronkowski will come out of retirement. Whatever the case, Cajuste is a great pick and the “why Player X instead of a tight end?!” argument should be saved for the selection of Damien Harris.
