ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --?Broncos?linebacker Brandon Marshall says standing up for social justice by kneeling during the national anthem before Denvers season opener was worth it even though it cost him an endorsement deal. The Air Academy Federal Credit Union on Friday terminated its 5-month-old relationship with Marshall, President/CEO Glenn Strebe said in a Facebook post.AAFCU is a membership-based organization who has proudly served the military community for over 60 years. While we respect Brandons right of expression, his actions are not a representation of our organization and membership. We wish Brandon well on his future endeavors, Strebe wrote.Marshall said the move surprised him, but he doesnt regret his actions.Absolutely, theyre worth the consequences, Marshall said. I lost an endorsement. Its OK, though, I figured that some type of repercussion would happen.Marshall said he respects the military, which fought for his freedoms, including the rights of free speech and peaceful protest.People can question my patriotism, but I have the utmost respect for this country, for this land, for the military, Marshall said. Im not against any of those entities at all. As far as my patriotism, that shouldnt be a question because Im just upholding my rights. I can protest peacefully, I can stand or sit. I can say what I feel like saying. Thats what our military has fought for -- the ability for everybody to be themselves. So, Im just exercising that right and I will continue to do that.Marshall said some of his detractors suggest he should follow the example set by Pat Tillman, who cut short his NFL career to go to war. They write that Tillman is the ultimate patriot, the ultimate American, Marshall said. Thats what he felt was right. God put that on his heart. That was his calling, what he felt he should do. This is what I feel like. I feel like I should join this movement. But at the same time I should be active as well.He said hell donate time and money to worthy causes such as Wounded Warriors.Marshall, a college teammate and fraternity brother of Colin Kaepernicks, took a knee during the playing of the national anthem before Denvers season opener against Carolina on Thursday night.Kaepernick refused to stand for the anthem during San Franciscos preseason games, explaining it was to protest racial oppression and police brutality in the United States.Marshall sounded a similar theme after Denvers 21-20 win.Im not against the military, Im not against America, he said. Im against social injustice.Marshall said Friday that hes gotten a lot of positive feedback but more negative reactions, including some racist remarks on Twitter and Instagram.I had a lot of positive text messages, but as far as social media, I had a lot of racist comments, people calling me the N-word and calling me all kinds of derogatory terms. Theres a lot of hate out there, but Im not here to spread hate or negativity.New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall got some of the tweets meant for the Broncos linebacker. Now he knows what it feels like, the Broncos Marshall said. Every time he does something or every time hes been in the media for something negative or even something positive, I get all the criticism. All the stuff he says on `Inside the NFL, I get it. Its crazy. So, now he knows what it feels like.Kaepernicks gesture opened a wide debate and focused the microscope on a pregame tradition that has, for decades, been routine.Marshall made no mention of his plans for Thursdays opener, saying he didnt want to take focus away from the teams preparation. But shortly after a large American flag was unfurled, the fifth-year linebacker out of Nevada went to the end of a long row of Broncos and took a knee.Marshall said hes not sure how long hell continue to kneel for the national anthem.Marshall said he asked a team spokesman to help him come up with a strategy for an endgame. He said hes also going to confer with Kaepernick. Cheap Air Max Black Friday . And follow TSN.ca right through Deadline Day for all the updates. We asked former Arsenal defender and Sky Sports Now guest Nigel Winterburn to grade each side based on their 90-minute performance on Saturday or Sunday. So how did your team fare? Did they get an A or an F, or somewhere in between? Read on to see how each top-flight side has been ranked... Premier League results Sunderland 2-1 Man Utd Bmouth 1-3 Stoke C Palace 1-2 Watford Everton 0-1 West Brom Norwich 2-2 West Ham Swansea 0-1 Soton Chelsea 5-1 Newcastle Arsenal 2-1 Leicester Aston Villa 0-6 Liverpool Man City 1-2 Spurs Liverpool - A+Villa were woeful but Liverpool made them look poor. The way they moved the ball was superb. Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho back in the team and its vital they stay fit going forward. Liverpool were outstanding. Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge returned from injury to score the opener in their 6-0 rout of Aston Villa on Sunday Chelsea - AThe way Chelsea went about winning the game in the first 20 minutes was brilliant. The only reason why Im not giving them an A+ is because the result came against Newcastle, a team they would have expected to beat. But you still have to go out and win these games, which Chelsea did so impressively. Cesc Fabregas celebrates with Chelsea team-mate Pedro at Stamford Bridge Stoke - AStoke have had some bad defeats in recent weeks so the way they outplayed Bournemouth at times was very impressive. A much-needed three points.Sunderland - AIt was a terrific performance by Sunderland. Their new players came into the team again and they were energetic, strong and powerful. They showed more desire to win the game and did well to comeback after United equalised - nervousness can creep into a side when that happens. Overall, they got a deserved victory. Sunderlands Yann MVila and Lamine Kone applaud the fans after beating Manchester United Tottenham - ASpurs contained Man City very well in the first half and they benefitted from a dubious penalty call. That changed the game significantly, but take nothing away from Spurs, who were very impressive away from home. Both Super Sunday pundits were in agreement and thought that Tottenham shouldnt have been awarded a penalty West Brom - AThis was a massive victory for West Brom. We know they sit in and defend but I didnt expect them to get anything out of this game. It was a strong defensive performance, particularly after going 120 minutes in the FA Cup in midweek. They were hard to beat and they secured a great result.Arsenal - B+To their credit Arsenal kept going and got the winner late on. Most people expected Arsenal to win the game against a very good Leicester team. Danny Welbecks winner on his comeback will have been welcomed. Danny Welbeck celebrates scoring Arsenals late winner against Leicester Southampton - B+Fraser Forsters great form has seen Southampton pick up unbelievably.dddddddddddd It was another good performance from Ronald Koemans side and another clear sheet.Watford - B+I cant grade Watford any higher than a B+ because youve got to consider the form Palace are in. But take nothing away from them, they were impressive and Troy Deeney took his goal at the end well.Norwich - BNorwich got themselves into a great position but yet again they werent able to get the balance between taking the game to the opposition and being able to defend properly. West Ham went the distance in midweek so when Norwich went 2-0 up they should have cruised to victory. The result shows the nervousness that surrounds a club when youre not organised defensively. Despite this, it was a good result for Norwich, although it wont feel like one. Norwich threw two points away at home to West Ham West Ham - BThe Hammers showed great character and proved they are a dangerous team. When you consider the game they had in midweek they deserve a B too.Leicester - B-Leicester were sensational against Man City last week, both in defence and attack they were perfect. They struggled to replicate the attacking side at Arsenal but they did create some decent chances. The sending off really swung the game in favour of the home team, so Im not going to be harsh on Leicester with the grade, they defended very well. Jamie Vardy of Leicester City celebrates with team-mates after scoring the opening goal Man City - C+Man City put in an improved second-half display after nervousness perhaps crept in after the defeat to Leicester. City are a team that needs to get their balance right, they didnt keep possession in the first half as Spurs got in among them. The result will come as a blow for City, who will have felt aggrieved with the awarding of Spurs penalty. Citys defeat to Spurs will have come as huge blow to their title charge Everton - CIts always difficult when you lose at home but Evertons performance wasnt that bad in terms of chances created. But, again, they are conceding too many goals, far too many for a team that is so talented. They are exciting to watch but they have to get that balance right.Bournemouth - C-I was disappointed with Bournemouth. I like watching them play, they are very energetic and usually start games very well but Stoke were impressive. The Cherries would have expected to get something from this game so Im sure theyll share my disappointment. Joselu of Stoke City celebrates scoring his teams third goal at Bournemouth Crystal Palace - C-Palace are in free fall and they are really struggling. Alan Pardew would have expected to get something from this game, despite the fact Watford have done very well this season.Manchester United - C-The defeat at Sunderland means its another step back for Manchester United. They performed well at Chelsea last week but couldnt follow it up as inconsistency resurfaced. I cannot mark them any higher than I have.Swansea - DI am really worried about Swansea because they look short of goal scorers in their squad. They would have expected to get something from this home game, they didnt so its got to be a D. Shane Long sealed Southamptons victory at Swansea Newcastle - FNewcastle were woeful, say no more. Their hopes of Premier League survival hinge on their home games against the teams around, so it will be very interesting to see whether they can avoid the drop.Aston Villa - U (unmarked)I cannot mark Aston Villa, it is impossible. What is the lowest mark I can give? I could go to the bottom of the alphabet. It is shocking and, unfortunately, its not just one performance - its happening quite a bit. You look for energy, desire, organisation and players taking responsibility in a team thats struggling. Villa clearly havent got any of that. Liverpool ran riot against a woeful Aston Villa side on Sunday They have no chance of staying up! All they can do now is show some guts and determination between now and the end of the season to get any sort of pride back.Watch Sky Sports Now weekdays from 10am to 12pm, Sky Sports News HQ.
