During the intensity of last Saturdays Alabama-LSU game, most of us missed a pretty important piece of history.The Crimson Tides 10-0 win in Baton Rouge gave coach Nick Saban his 200th official career victory. We say official because the NCAA vacated five wins by Alabama during the 2007 season.Saban is now the 17th coach in FBS history and the only active coach with 200 wins. Saban needed only 21 seasons as a college coach to get to 200 wins, the third fastest in history.When the No. 1 Crimson Tide (9-0, 6-0 SEC) hosts Mississippi State (4-5, 2-3) on Saturday Saban will be going for another piece of history. It will be Sabans 45th game as the coach of the nations No. 1 team, which ties him with Woody Hayes (Ohio State) and Bobby Bowden (Florida State). A win would make Saban 40-5 in those games, which ties the victory mark also held by Hayes and Bowden.Not surprisingly, Saban hasnt talked about the milestone. But his players did.And getting a win like that for him, his 200th win as a coach, its just a great feeling, something that we could do for him, running back Damien Harris told BamaOnline.com. And he was really proud of us for the way that we fought and competed in the game for 60 minutes. We really did a good job.Here are a number of other SEC storylines to watch this Saturday: Will Muschamp says he will always be grateful that the University of Florida gave him the opportunity to be a head coach (2011-2014). But on Saturday he returns to The Swamp as the head coach at South Carolina.Muschamps first Gamecock team (5-4, 3-4) has won three straight and needs just one more win to qualify for a bowl. Muschamp would dearly love to get it in Gainesville, where he grew up before playing his college football for Georgia. Muschamp, however, has tried to downplay his return to Gainesville.Obviously its an important game for us because its an SEC East game and it gives us a chance to stay alive for the division, Muschamp said on this weeks coaches conference call. My focus is on our players.Florida (6-4, 4-2) is struggling offensively after losing 31-10 at Arkansas. And things might not be much better on Saturday as the Gators will be without starting quarterback Luke Del Rio, who injured a shoulder against Arkansas. A year ago LSU was undefeated and ranked No. 2 when it faced No. 4 Alabama and lost 30-16. The Tigers then proceeded to lose their next two games to Arkansas (31-14) and Ole Miss (38-17).LSU, under interim coach Ed Orgeron, will be trying to avoid another collapse when the No. 24 Tigers travel to No. 25 Arkansas (6-3, 2-3). The Hogs are coming off an impressive win over Florida.Orgeron, who took over for Les Miles in late September, said his team has worked hard to put the Alabama game behind them.Its been a challenge. In the past weve not played well after the Alabama games and were working to change that, said Orgeron. Its going to be a tough road trip for the LSU Tigers. Anybody got a quarterback? At the beginning of the season the Ole Miss-Texas A&M game looked like one of the more entertaining matchups on the schedule. But now both teams will have to play without their starting quarterbacks.Chad Kelly of Ole Miss, who is the focal point of the Rebels offense, was lost for the season with a knee injury last week against Georgia Southern. Hell be replaced by redshirt freshman Jason Pellerin, who has attempted only 13 passes this season.Senior transfer Trevor Knight, who led Texas A&M to a 7-1 record and a No. 4 national ranking, injured his shoulder while diving to score a touchdown in the 35-28 loss to Mississippi State. After a 1-2 start Auburn (7-2, 5-1) has bounced back to win six straight games and put itself in position to possibly play Alabama for the SEC West championship.But first the No. 9 Tigers have to beat Georgia (5-4, 3-4) in Athens, something they havent done since 2005. In fact, Auburn has lost eight of its last 10 meetings against Georgia.There is some pressure here on Auburn. All of their preseason goals are still possible with a win over Georgia. But a loss combined with an Alabama win over Mississippi State would give the SEC West championship to the Crimson Tide.But we cant focus on what this game might mean, said Auburn coach Gus Malzahn. We just have to focus on what we can do to give us a chance to win this game. After three straight losses to Texas A&M (45-38 2OT), Alabama (49-10) and South Carolina (24-21), Tennessee (6-3, 2-3) finally got a chance to exhale last week with a 55-0 win over nonconference opponent Tennessee Tech.Now the Volunteers need to regroup because despite the injuries and the adversity they have endured, they can still win the SEC East.First Tennessee must beat Kentucky (5-4, 4-3), which lost a 27-24 heartbreaker last week to Georgia on a field goal at the buzzer.Then the Vols must beat Missouri in Knoxville and Vanderbilt on the road. If Tennessee can do that and if Florida loses one of its final two conference games with South Carolina or LSU, then Tennessee would make its first trip to Atlanta since 2007. Vanderbilt (4-5, 1-4), which lost yet another close game to Auburn last week, still has a chance to become bowl eligible as the Commodores travel to struggling Missouri (2-7, 0-5).
