TORONTO -- Toronto Rock owner, president and governor Jamie Dawick was named National Lacrosse League executive of the year on Tuesday. "Jamies goal is to make the Rock a world-class sports franchise," NLL commissioner George Daniel said in a release. "Hes very passionate about his team, our league and the sport as a whole. He deserves this recognition and award by his peers." The Rock finished 10-6 this past season and finished in the top third of the league in average attendance. "We work very hard at it and our fans support us," Dawick said. "Well continue to try and fill seats. After them, its a toss-up. Anaheim looks vulnerable due to a combination of aging stars and questionable forward depth. Edmonton is a team on the rise but maybe a season away, as Connor McDavid could become the best player in the league. A coaching change should help Calgary maximize its young skill players talents. The Coyotes probably arent ready to run with the best teams in the division, but the numbers hint that they could be in the mix. As for Vancouver?
