Jon Fitch will defend his WSOF welterweight title against Jake Shields on Nov. 12 in Loveland, Colorado.WSOF president Ray Sefo revealed the matchup to ESPN on Tuesday. The event will take place inside Budweiser Events Center and air on NBC Sports Network at 10:30 p.m. ET.The 170-pound matchup was discussed earlier this year, but Shields pulled out of negotiations due to a contract dispute. According to Sefo, Shields (31-8-1) recently signed a new four-fight deal.Just like any contract negotiation, it went back and forth, and we settled on something everyone was very happy with, Sefo said. Jake is a great guy. One thing we needed to work out were the grappling tournaments he wishes to compete in. We wanted to give him that freedom. We were happy with the deal. Jake is happy. This matchup is long overdue. You have two great guys, great names in the sport. Theyre icons. Were happy we could put this match together.Shields was not immediately available to comment on the new contract.Sefo acknowledged the event falls on the same date as a highly anticipated UFC 205 pay-per-view at Madison Square Garden, the promotions first trip to New York since 1995. Sefo said the Nov. 12 date had long been in place for WSOF.We have our dates laid out, and this one was set, Sefo said. We didnt know New York was going to pass MMA, and in reality, this is hard to avoid. The UFC has a show every week, sometimes twice a week. We already have dates in place for 2017.A former UFC veteran, Fitch (28-7-1) claimed the WSOF vacant title by defeating Joao Zeferino via unanimous decision in April. The 38-year-old has fought the likes of Georges St-Pierre, B.J. Penn, Thiago Alves, Johny Hendricks, Demian Maia and Yushin Okami. He is 4-1 in his past five fights.Shields, 37, is a former Strikeforce middleweight champion and UFC welterweight title challenger. He has not fought since a controversial submission loss to Rousimar Palhares in August 2015. Shields accused Palhares of holding a kimura submission too long, as well as repeatedly gouging his eyes in the contest. Palhares received a two-year suspension in Nevada for holding his actions in that fight. Adidas Ultra Boost Clearance . MONTPELLIER, France -- Italy coach Antonio Conte has some fresh worries over his teams midfield ahead of its European Championship quarterfinal clash against Germany on Saturday.Daniele De Rossi, a veteran of the triumphant 2006 World Cup side, is a doubt after picking up a thigh injury in Italys 2-0 round of 16 win over Spain on Monday. The 32-year-old has missed both training sessions since. We are doing everything to get him back but time is running out, Italy doctor Enrico Castellacci said Wednesday. We dont want to make premature conclusions even if we know how close the match is.An additional problem for Conte is that De Rossis replacement against Spain, Thiago Motta, was shown his second yellow card of the tournament and is suspended for Saturdays match in Bordeaux. And Antonio Candreva, who has missed the past two matches with a groin injury, will also be sidelined for the clash against the world champion.Contes midfield worries are nothing new. Before the tournament, Claudio Marchisio, Marco Verratti and Riccardo Montolivo were ruled out through injury. All us 23 can do something important, midfielder Alessandro Florenzi said. We climbed a significant peak, now we have Everest. If history is any guide, Italy should have the edge. Germany has never beaten Italy in a competitive match. The Azzurri won 2-1 the last time the two met, in the Euro 2012 semifinal. You doont prepare a game saying we won the one before, well win the next one, Florenzi said.dddddddddddd We went to work immediately after Spain, we watched the video and tried to find weaknesses in a team that doesnt have many. The facts speak for themselves, theyre world champions, theyve won so many matches, thats what gives them confidence. Were gaining confidence bit by bit, match after match, training after training. We know it wont be easy but we want to do it for us, for all the work weve put in.Little was expected of Italy as it headed into the tournament with an aging team written off by critics and described as one of the worst-ever by the media back home. However, the Azzurri and Conte have impressed from the start, beating Belgium 2-0 and going on to secure top spot in Group E with a game to spare. Victory over Spain was also somewhat of a surprise and another upset against Germany would see Italy emerge as a genuine contender for the title.Theres a good atmosphere, Italy forward Ciro Immobile said. The Spain match gave us extra motivation. Its not that there wasnt before, but winning against a great team always gives you confidence. Now we are facing an even stronger team in Germany. We have to train for it as well was we did for Spain. cheap falcons jerseyscheap ravens jerseyscheap bills jerseyscheap bears jerseyscheap bengals jerseyscheap cowboys jerseyscheap lions jerseyscheap texans jerseyscheap colts jerseyscheap jaguars jerseyscheap chiefs jerseyscheap rams jerseyscheap dolphins jerseyscheap vikings jerseyscheap saints jerseyscheap giants jerseyscheap jets jerseyscheap eagles jerseyscheap steelers jerseyscheap 49ers jerseys ' ' '
