The Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons each already have Super Bowl aspirations in 2013 The Thursday Night Football matchup between the two teams gave a glimpse into the best matchup for the coming Madden NFL 23 season.
The starters, however, didn't bring much fireworks. Andy Dalton and Matt Ryan both only saw limited action at the beginning of the game. Ryan was the most efficient of the two quarterbacks who started running 6-for-9 and 89 yards. The Falcons gained a 3-0 advantage as a result.
Josh Johnson entered for the Bengals and the offense went off. He did most of the damage on his legs, rushing at least four times and gaining 64 yards. Additionally, he completed nine of his 16 attempts to pass for 100 yards and a touchdown.
A pair of new running backs helped get things going on the Bengals. Second-round pick Giovani Bernard managed only 2.8 yards per carry , yet scored with a touchdown off the one-yard line. Rex Burkhead helped keep the offense moving in the second half, rushing 9 times and gaining 52 yards.
The Falcons did show a lack of depth in the second half , and Cincinnati managed to pull away with a win of 24 points. The final score of 34-10 was quite lopsided. However, the game was evenly matched until the second and third-stringers began dominate the game.
